My five favourite photographs

Professional photography is an endless – and in the beginning very steep – learning curve. Many of us love photography but for a whole raft of different reasons. The obvious ones – documenting life and savouring memories. But for others it’s how they fill their creative cup, connect with others and show their perception of the world around them. Photography is a universal language and it’s powerful. Images, like words, have different meanings. Instead of phrasing a sentence, we’re framing a scene to tell the story.

This is a series of images to tell my story as a photographer.

1. Maldives sunset

My husband and I moved to the Maldives in 2014. This is where I began taking photographs of the incredible scenes around me; from bright turquoise waters, dark rolling storms and the most exquisite sunsets over the ocean.

2. My favourite family photo ever

My husband and daughter helping me to take some test shots at a new location – little did I know that I would come home with a handful of my most favourite images of their beautiful bond. This image in particular became the inspiration for my logo and branding. I am forever grateful to Lucy from Lucky and Son for her creativity in shaping my brand.

3. A photographer’s dream – a new lens used for the first time on this family session

One of the most exciting things as a photographer is investing in new equipment. I had wanted an 85mm lens for so long and boy did it deliver! This was the first session I used it for.

4. My whole heart

My two babies, Jasri and Felice. I’m sure it’s no surprise that they have been a huge inspiration for me as a photographer.

5. My very first family photo session

A photograph from my first family photo session in June 2019. I can’t thank my beatiful client, Sarah, enough for her support and recommending me as a photographer to absolutely everyone!
